BUNURU

Long days and short nights mark Bunuru, the hottest of the six seasons. Traditionally, it has been—and continues to be—a wonderful time to live and fish along the coast, as well as by rivers and estuaries.

APRIL | MAY

Djeran is characterised by cooler evenings, heavy morning dew, and leaves falling to the ground. During this season, Ngari (salmon) are abundant.

AUGUST | SEPTEMBER

DJILBA

Djilba is a transitional season, bringing a mix of crisp, clear cold days and warmer periods of rain and wind. During this time, budding djet (flowers) appear and koola (emu plum) begins to bear fruit. It’s also an excellent season for catching djildjit (fish).
